This is factory new. Makes the flasher energize the rear turns when only the brake switch should provide power with the switch at rest.
I will get pinout diagram for future reference. This is the classic parts 53-507 |

Here is what it should look like. These switch contacts will not hold spring tension.

Potential solution to better quality spring contacts for $130 worth of parts? Now to see if I can makes contacts.
Next option is Brownells gunsmith supply for spring stock. |

Re: New turn signal switch issues on 1963 2500
Well, the cheap fix to a new part is working. it was a bit fiddly to get the correct bends and tension. material that is a bit wider would work better, a friend of mine in the model railroad/ slot car world suggested windshield wiper metal inserts. That might be next.
I will relay that Jared at Tucker's Parts has been excellent to work with. Offered to issue a refund, but I explained what I had done and did not feel like I could take them up on the refund. I have reached out to Classic industries but have not heard anything yet. |

Re: New turn signal switch issues on 1963 2500
a couple of quick notes on these two switches for our 1963 2500.
The classic 53-507 wire colors match the truck colors, I cannot verify that the truck has the original under-dash harness. The Tucker's parts have different colors but function exactly the same. |

Re: New turn signal switch issues on 1963 2500
My Tuckers part had issues as well, with internal shorts in those flimsy blades causing it to behave as if emergency hazards were on.
Haven't had much luck fiddling with the bends and tension. All will be working well on the bench, but by the time i get it all installed, I only have rear blinkers working; no fronts. Those blades just seem awfully flimsy. I would like to see a pic of your bobby pin mod if you have one. I hate to spend money on another switch that may or may not work.
