I have removed my Bendix Hydrovac and sent it off for rebuild. the place I found could not provide a kit for me to rebuild it but said they have boxes of parts and just match up what you have with what they have and do it that way.

Before sending it off I craked it open and took a look but I forgot to do photos of the inside.

What I found was that the big diafram had a large split in it and fluid insdie next to the brake slave cylinder where it should have been dry.

Here is a quik update, I found for the front wheel cylinders numbers.
Raybestos: Left WC19090, Right WC19091

I ordered my parts this time from Q'reilly so I chould get my shop discount.
O'Reilly used the same numbers too, only BHH in fonrt of it, BHH WC19090 $47.44 {$24.77} & BHH WC19091 $47.44 {$24.77}
I also picked up the three hoses to replace those too, front you'll need 2 BHH BH36698 $47.44 {$25.05} rear BHH BH36563 $50.83 {$26.84}

I sent the booster to a place in SLC Utah for rebuild, cost $213.oo, Item code PBS 2504102D

PBC Fleet Lites & Parts, P.O. Box 27687, SLC UT 84127 801-972-9700

Well I got my Rescue Squad back onthe road and even took it to a show in Ogden in October. So I guess now that is getting cold out I should do an update on the Manville Rescue Squad.

I got the Brake Booster back from Rebuild, looks like they did a good job.

Looks like I need to resize and upload some more photo of the rest of the Brake rebuild.

More info on my Wheels, as you know if you have been following this story, I have a set of 22.5 tubeless wheels that came on the old 1960 LCF I parted out.

I put two on the front with some new tires, when I was doing the front brakes, I installed the other four on the rear. this truck being heavy as it is, I bought a 12 ton jack from O'Reilly Auto Parts. then I happen to be near a Harber Frieght Tools a few weeks later so I check their jacks and also picked up a 20 ton jack.

Both work OK now but the Harbor Frieght jack leaked off the first time I used it. I run the bleeder valve in & out a few times then it was OK.

While installing the rear tires I found these marking on the rims.

The wheel look to be from 9 of 1959.

I now have all the 22.5 tubeless wheels on the truck and I also have one spare.

Remove the front wheel and now I can see the bearing will need to be pulled to get to the brakes.

Ok first thing I did was remove the springs at the top so I could pull the shoes out of the way, no need to remove tham as there is plenty of brake lining left. then I loosened the brake line, it does not have a swivel fitting so I pulled the two bolts that hold the cylinder to the backing plate and spun if off the line.

Only one side of one cylinder on the front was leaking, but mite as well do both as you have to just about remove them to check them.

Install the new cylinder by spinning it onto the line then bolt in place.

reinstall the brake shoes,

and the springs on the top. next thing to do is install the brake drum, I started to bleed the system with one side still off and this is what happens, besides you can't get it to built up as you will blow of the pistons and end up with a major leak.....Doh!!!

Jumping ahaed is not a good thing, so I had to remove the cylinder, put it back together and reinstall, then I installed the drum and did the bleeding of the brakes.
