Thanx there was two nuts behind the insulation. The heater core has never been replaced!!!!

The availability of New Drums is great news. For many, many years we had to rely on good used drums only. I even know of many who swapped out the whole rear to the newer style because those drums were that hard to find.
I would have to verify it, but I always knew the interchange to be '63 to '70. Bill
