I had a similar issue. I turn out to be corrosion in the terminal at the starter. When I troubleshot the problem measuring the voltage drop across different section of the wires (power and ground wires) I noticed green around the terminal on the wire. I cut it off and installed a new terminal, problem solved.
While I was doing that I also found my alternator was not grounded good enough (have over .5 volt drop, should be near zero). I installed a ground wire from the alternator to the block. Battery is now getting a full charge. Engine now spin over a lot better. |
