Re: 1960 k1001
Shock mount looks good. First time I did that was 1985. A 35.000 mile 61 chev 1/2 ton 4x4. 235 4 speed long step. 6 miles of washboard gravel road. Had ripped off mounts before I was born. Original owner let it be. I wish I still had it. Paid 700 bucks. Drove it a while and sold it for 1000. Looks like you are having fun with that front end. Since you are in a warm clime. Put about 3/4 grease and 1/4 140. Here I go about half half.

Re: 1960 k1001
When you reassemble make sure the shimming is correct. On my 1961 GMC 4WD Suburban one side was way to tight, I think this is what broke the original bearing, I had to make the proper thickness shim from a sheet of shim stock.

Re: 1960 k1001
Thanks Clyde. Will use the same shims as removed and try to test hub torque with my fish scale according to specs. (9 lb pull)

Re: 1960 k1001
Ended up taking the whole thing apart on the bench before re install. If the other side leaks I will just slit the rubber, slit the felt, put slits at top and fix it in 15 minutes.
