Default kicking out of second gear

good day all,

So after two years of picking away at my truck its now my daily driver. My problem is, with it being a 4 on the floor, I start off in second and once I get going and pick up speed it kicks out of gear and sometimes it catches me off guard and leaves me fumbling for third gear. My question is what could be causing it to pop put of second gear.

thanks in advance

Most likely you've got bearings showing wear. That or worn/ground second gear is common when second gear is not synchronized.

Cecilia does this too after I rebuilt her trans. It's on my list of things that need fixing. Glad I'm not the only one with this prob!

Some people are like slinkys. Not worth much but funny as heck when pushed down stairs.

My '67 K model has always done that too. But it's never bothered me enough to go to the trouble of doing something about it.
