Re: 1964 GMC 1000 Fleetside
Well the 64 manual (X-6423) primarily references most of the A/C stuff back to the 62 manual (X-6223). It only had this little blurb (see thumbnail).
Now check out that monster compressor in the 62 manual. To view some links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Maybe you should introduce yourself with a new topic? Some of y'all have probably see that, but it looks huge on the 351 engine Still liking the look of the setup on the '67

I saw that one. His was a 401 with some special ear off the water pump or something. It looked good though.

Re: 1964 GMC 1000 Fleetside
Ole Rusty is still plugging and chugging. Not much happening. Did have to replace the heater blower motor. Since I had the housing out from under the hood, I decided to blast it and powder coat. My spray paint job from 5 or 6 years ago was flaking off.

Getting prepared for adding AC, so I got this Crankshaft Pulley extension, if that is the correct terminology, from @AZKen. Got it cleaned up and installed. During all of that one of the Core/Freeze Plugs decided to start letting water out. It either corroded from the inside due to age or the outside due to oil grime sitting on it forever. Either way, got that swapped out. Fortunately is was the only one I could get to from underneath. To view some links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. Just not up to that right now. To view some links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Maybe you should introduce yourself with a new topic? Hope everyone else's rides are doing fine.

Re: 1964 GMC 1000 Fleetside
Well, thought I had all the blinker shenanigans worked out, but yesterday I had another odd problem. I drove Rusty to work, which is about 35 minutes. All blinkers were working fine until a few minutes before I arrived, then they quit working. at least brake lights still worked. I assumed something came loose, so didn't think to much about it for the rest of the day.
Then, I got in the truck to go home. Tested the blinkers and all was working properly again. Ok?? So headed on home. Then, a few minutes before I got home, they quit working again. So, could the flasher relay or some other component be getting hot and failing after about 30 minutes of driving? I would think if it was grounding or another loose wire issue that it wouldn't have recovered like it did while I was at work. Any thoughts? All feedback is welcome.

Re: 1964 GMC 1000 Fleetside
If all of the light not blinking, I would replace the flasher unit.
