Re: 292 almost done
What material is the distributor gear made of to work on your old inline 6 . Did you remove and reuse the distributor gear from your old drive gear? Randy Kaneer

Re: 292 almost done
A friend of mine has a 71 Chevy with a stock 292 industrial motor with a a turbo on it and a 400 turbo trans. Ran 14.50 1/4mile times with it on street tires. He just put a bigger turbo and carb on it and has not run it after that upgrade. Pretty cool way to do things different than the crowd.

Re: 292 almost done
The owner of the turbo 292 wanted to know how far he could push that motor and he found out. 30lb of boost and maybe a little lean. Rebuilding with better pistons and cam and lowering when the waste gate opens. Dave

Re: 292 almost done
Love 292's.
Mine was all stock, except for a shaved head when it was found to be warped when I had the valves done, which gave it a little more compression, and I put on a straight-thru muffler. Also kept it well tuned. Had a lot of power and sounded sweet too. It also got surprisingly good gas mileage. This was in my '64 C-30.
