Default 64 GMC upper steering column bearing

Got myself in a little trouble with steering column after installing power steering on my 64 GMC. Old upper bearing was in pieces after removing and reinstalling column as had to shorten overall length from the bottom to accomodate power steering gearbox. I do remember that a "sleeve" which resembled an oversized roll pin slid down between steering shaft and inside diameter of bearing. Have ordered three different bearings for 64 to 66 Chevy as couldn't find GMC bearing and of course they are a different configuration! Column has axial and radial slop which I'm sure would be resolved with proper bearing as said sleeve made it all perfect. Can anyone HELP?

Thanks for the comeback TBucket! No, the inside diameter is a little sloppy and O.D. is also sloppy allowing the column to rattle, squeak, and generally sound awful! Also ordered a different one but I.D. was way too small. Really wish the old one hadn't fallen apart as it was perfect, and I believe that was due to little 2 1/2 inch long sleeve that slid on I.D. of bearing and snugged everything up! It resembled an oversized roll pin and can't find anyone or anything that has seen one like I'm describing.....
