Default OLD aftermarket AC

I am ready to recharge the very old aftermarket ac in my truck. A fair amount of oil was lost while the system was in pieces. I have a supply of the correct type freon but am unsure what kind of oil to put in the system. Any suggestions? Thanks. Kknotts Ellisville Ms.

Kknotts,

If your system is an old R12 system you would use standard mineral oil.

Have a great evening,

I would use the correct refrigerant oil, most major chain auto parts stores carry it, just make sure it's R12 compatible.

Thank you much. Got a small container of R12 compatible at NAPA today. kknotts Ellisville Ms.
