Default 351E Exhaust

Hey guys I am looking into replacing my old original exhaust on my truck I have heard some nice 305 V6 engines and I was hoping to see what ou guys have used and liked? I heard that 2-1/2" or 3" pipes with the 50 series flowmasters is the way to go...any truth to that? would like to know what you guys know before I go and spend money on something I wont like hearing...

ab positive bulldogs,

I went dual exhaust with an X-pipe and 2 1/2" system with Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers. The Aero's sound mellow and quiet but do give that distinctive GMC V6 sound when "accelerating"; as much as you can using our beloved V6's.

Should you be thinking "headers", read this thread : http://6066gmcclub.com/forum/showthr...ghlight=blower

Looks like our stock manifolds have enough "room" to take even more than the cylinders can spit out...

But i'll be looking at exhaust sometime this year, I think. Mine's got the original 1969 pipes and the PO said the "Y" pipe leaked. But first I have to get it road ready to get it home- highlights are getting a Holley and an HEI DIstributor on next weekend.
