1966 GMC build
Thought I'd share my progress on my '66 GMC 4x4 conversion. Frame stripped to metal and shortened 11 inches; didn't want a long bed nor a short bed. It has 35" tires. I have replaced darn near every replaceable part (so many **** bushings) and that stuff adds up super fast! $$$
I will be using a previously rebuilt 292 straight 6 which will be turbo'd. I'm only going to run 5-7 pounds of boost as I don't want to destroy the engine. I will also be running the Holley Super Sniper EFI on the 292. I am sticking with the sm465 transmission with an np205. Progress has been slow, but it has been so therapeutic. I love the build process. |
