I built my HEI based off the Buick even fire V6 for my 305 V6 back in 1991 and I don't think there is anyone that predates my conversion. I first considered a retrofit like the Pertronix but what kept me from that if the system failed at some point what would be the immediate availability of the kit. As far as the HEI it had a solid reputation and if a module went out you could get one immediately from just about any parts store. Other factors are the HEI is a hotter ignition and has far greater build up potential than the Pertronix. Today that HEI I built 26 1/2 years resides in the 478M on my 68 K2500, it's been upgraded with an MSD coil and MSD digital module with built in rev limiter and a second Tach lead which will definitely serve a purpose when I decide to go with fuel injection in the future.

I want to upgrade to the HEI. Are there any cross over bushings available or is that still something that has to be fabricated?

A collar will have to be fabricated so you can use the Even Fire Buick V6 HEI.

Do you still have any of these bushings available? Is this still a good e-mail address for you?
