Default Felt Issue

It has been a while since I last posted. I have made a lot of progress restoring my 1962 K1001. I'll be wrapping it up soon. I kept some detailed notes of each task completed, cost, part #, source, etc... If anyone is interested in this info, I'll post a pdf of my notes after I wrap up. But now on to my current dilemma. I'm installing new door seals, which includes new window felts. Overall, the installation went pretty smoothly, but when I tried to roll the window up it stops short of fully closed. There's about a 1/4" gap at the top. It appears that the runner at the bottom of the glass is hitting the new felts, stopping the window from closing. I went over to look at the passenger side door and sure enough, the lower runner passes completely through the felts. Has anyone else seen this? How did you deal with it? Do I need to shave the felts?

I bet you can lube the felts and after a little time closed in the sun they'll make friendly.
Also, I'm 1000% interested in that PDF! Or just copy and paste the info into a post so it's searchable. I forget stuff now that the salt is getting in my beard and when i do, I try searching here first.

Some people are like slinkys. Not worth much but funny as heck when pushed down stairs.

I ran into the same problem, it appears that suppliers of these parts in the US are all receiving the same part made in Taiwan and it is made incorrectly. I did find a metal window belt line which is very close to original with Rubber Made the right way, their catalog number for the kit is 10-248X, runs about $40.00. It is made in USA by a company called Precision their number is WFK1110 60A.

You can see the issue in the picture, it is the placement of the mounting pins, on the repo they are in the middle which lowers the piece, originals are at bottom which raises it so channel doesn't hit window riser channel.

Used the repro felts from classic parts on mine. I kept the wore out originals, they are 1000% better in terms of fitment and quality. Might put the inside felts back as they are still usable. Had to bend the repro's into the proper radius. some of the stupid clamps have already come apart.

Did not have any trouble with the window not fully closing though.
