This is the buildup of my 1965 Gmc 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 305v6, Dana/spicer 44 front, 60 rear, 4.56 gears sm420 transfer case and a timken/Rockwell t221 transfer case.

The first four pictures are from the truck as i found it. The clutch was gone, no brakes, and neither drive shaft was connected. It was a long way home on that trailer.

The second and third are me converting it to power steering using a 74 model steering gear. I got the pulley setup and mounts for the pump off ebay.

the last 2 pictures are of replacing the floor and inner/outer rocker panel on the driver side, I hope to upload more pictures soon.

I recently mounted an under bed gas tank, polyurethane transfercase mounts and body mounts. I still have to replace the floor and inner/outer rocker panel on the passenger side. I also have to mount the bed and rebuild it.

Been working on it at as much as possible between work and rain, got the floor boards and inner rocker done. pics to come soon. still have to weld the outer rocker and work on the paint, actually started scraping the old layers of paint off with a razor, it's taking all the paint off down to the original coat.

Cant wait to see pics. I have to do my rocker on the pass side and I'm toying with the idea of power steering in the future.

These are some of the pics of replacing the inner and outer rocker panels on the passenger side along with some of the floor board. The first picture is the rear door jamb and the dots are where the spot welds were. The second is the front pillar. The easiest way I have found to take out the spot welds are to take and drill them with a 1/2" drill bit until the outer piece of metal lets go, I will take some pictures of the old rocker that show where the welds were. I put the outer rocker on but haven't taken any pictures yet.

This is removing the inner and outer rocker on the passenger side. The first and second are after the spot welds were drilled and I had started to pull it apart, the inner and outer are attached together at the bottom by the outer folding over the inner, much like the door. luckily I was replacing both so I just cut it out. The last picture is after welding the inner rocker and part of the floor.

This is the rear mount gas tank kit from brothers. The fit is ok, i welded the angle iron in the front of the tank to mount the filter and to mount the straps. Currently the straps run from the passenger the driver side, I'm about to move the straps to a front to rear direction so I can mount a 2" receiver hitch to help protect the tank and make towing things easier, this is a truck built to pull.

Nice work! Who says us "shade tree mechanics" can't get the job done?? Great idea drilling the spot welds and fabricating the patches. There are a lot of us out here whose projects get "bogged down" and seeing something like this motivates us to kick things back into gear. Well done. Jim Hyde, Phx AZ
