Default Left Tail Light

My left tail light will only work when I set it on the bumper. Grounding problem.
But where do I look and what am I looking for? I can’t work on my truck everyday so I’m looking for a quick answer just to give me an idea. I’m new at all of this and I actually just finished painting my truck about 3 weeks ago and found out my darn left tail light wasn’t working. I checked the connection under the chassis in the back of the truck and in the cab but can’t find anything wrong.
Any idea’s or suggestions will be greatly appreciated because you guys have helped the last 4 years with taking the truck apart and with putting it back together.

Thanks
Greg-GTS61

I believe the tail light is grounded through the housing. With the fresh paint you might not be getting a good ground connection between the body and the light housing or maybe the left fender is not grounded to the frame.

Good luck in finding your grounding problem.

You are exactly right. It was the new paint. I ran a wire from the light bracket to the bumper and it was nice and bright! Thanks for replying!!
