Can’t engage clutch
I replaced a rear brake line then I had to bleed my brakes. I know that the brake and clutch use the same master cylinder. Now I tried putting my truck in gear and when I push in clutch and try putting in gear it’s grinding . I’m new at this so and help will be appreciated.
Thanks Greg |

Re: Can’t engage clutch
Clutch slave cylinder should have a bleeder screw just like your brake wheel cylinders. So just bleed it. You probably somehow got air in it while doing brakes. No sweat, short, single component system, will bleed very quickly. Need a helper though. Same as brakes bleeder: pump pedal slowly, bleeder valve is closed on down stroke of clutch pedal.
If that does not fix it, adjust linkage per manual..... Check for broken/missing component. Last edited by AZKen; March 21st, 2018 at 10:24 PM. |

AZKen:
Did you mean "bleeder valve is OPEN on down stroke?" |

Re: Can’t engage clutch
I should have said: Open it, start down stroke, close it before the end of down stroke/during down stroke. Let up on pedal. Repeat.
I see the way I said it was misleading. Last edited by AZKen; March 26th, 2018 at 08:13 PM. |
