Default Summit Racing Spin-On Oil filter adapter

This seems too good to be true; applications listed include the 305 V6. Any experience with this? Non-original I know, but if it works . . .

Yes, too good to be true. The GMC adapter is much different and doubtful that it will ever be reproduced. You could post a Want to Buy and possibly find one.

The one from Summit is for a sbc V8 and Snazzypig the factory GMC unit is not an adapter it's considered a spin on housing. There is an actual adapter that's for Detroit Diesels that works with the larger GMC V6 Cannister type housing.

I agree with you it fit the chevy engines. I requested confirmation from Melling just in case the picture is wrong. I'll let everyone know what they say.

Do you have the part number for that Detroit Diesels adapter.

Pardon the Newbie "Duh" but do you mean installing this will allow me to convert to a spin-on filter and not have to use the original canister? Amazon is out of stock but I do see it online elsewhere.

According to Melling it does not fit our V6 engine.
