Default 64 GMC factory power steering question.

I think this is the right place to ask this question

My truck has the factory power steering.

My question is.

Is the power center link that the power steering ram goes onto different from the manual set up?

Thanks for any help.

Default Re: 64 GMC factory power steering question.

yes - the drag link and pitman arm are both unique to power steering trucks. Manual gearbox itself is the same. Drag link is made with a boss to connect the rear of the power cylinder, and a threaded end to accept the control valve. Pitman arm is totally shaped different than a non-power assist equipped truck. Hope this helps....
