Default Thrift Air Blower Knob

For any who have been looking for the original chrome heater blower knob, they have been coming up if you search “1962-1964 Chevy II radio knobs” on eBay. I purchased two for around $30. I haven’t been able to find a black one (same shape as the chrome one), but I’m pretty sure both were original options from GMC and Chevrolet. The 1963 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual shows photographs of the same knob. It fits perfectly on the D-shaped cable, but the spring inside of the knob must be pushed up to add tension. I also had to add a drop of Loctite super glue on the curved side to secure it a bit more.
If anyone knows where to find an original black one in good condition, please feel free to share!
