Interesting truck and I'm not saying that it isn't authentic, but I find it strange for Elvis to buy an I-6 Cylinder truck. But I guess anything is possible, especially if that is all they had on the lot when they needed a truck quick, according to the story.

That's a nice shortbox GMC, thanks for the link Ed. As Bill said it may be authentic, but it had been owned by Elvis' ranch. He probably never even saw it. This is another auction that uses the term "restored" pretty loosely. First thing I noticed was the hubcaps. I have the same ones on my '55 GMC. They came from a 1980's GMC S-15. The rubber grommet where the steering column goes into the dash is gone. It would be interesting to see the glovebox SPID label to see if those interior colors may have been ordered that way.

Under the hood I noticed that the steel fuel lines are gone and the air cleaner looks like the snout may have been cut off of it. There's lots more details not right or cobbled up. Refubished--yeah, restored---not really. They are trying to sell Elvis, not a truck!
