Default Big Block V8 Questions

Hoping for some non V6 GMC advice and appologize in advance if Im out of line- we have a new member of our farm family, a 1985 GMC 7000 dumptruck with a 366. On the motor is a belt driven pump, no belt, has heater like hoses to each exhaust manifold then steel lines into each exhaust port, assume emmisions reburner? Would like simplify under hood and remove this system, does anyone know if std big block header pipes will fit a 366 truck engine? Also, truck has a Holley carb with rev limiter, can I safely do away with limiter and rely on the working tach thats in the truck? In my early 20’s I turned a bearing in a 72-C60 I had, way overloafed with granite gravel on a hot summer day up the steepest hill in town, but dont recall having a limiter in that truck.
Any and all advice, comments and waffle greatly appreciated!

this truck is an emissions engine. The govenor is on the engine to protect the engine from multipule drivers who would overrun the engine. to disable the govenors, simply unplug the harness from the electric/vaccum solenoid on the right front of the carberator. I wouldn't destroy the plugs, unless you never plan on letting anybody else drive your truck. if you do, just unplug the goveners and plug them back up when others drive the truck. i can't tell you to disable the emissions because of the $25k fine per violation that can be incurred. welcome to the group, even though you don't have a GMC V6. i misspoke, because i saw that in your member listing there is a V6 listed. i humbly ask your forgiveness.
