Default Seeking help in evaluating "Burb for sale

I'm looking at buying an early 60's GMC Suburban and have found one near Austin TX. Seems like it has exceptional sheet metal; missing the original engine/tranny (400/700 in place). If this ends up in my garage I hope to convert it back to the V6; my FIL had one that he drove for nearly 500K miles before New England salt broke it apart. Any suggestions on finding assistance with an in-person evaluation of this truck? I'm 1700 miles away. I'm also not the first in line, but for the other two ahead of me it's a money issue and sometimes those problems don't go away; hope to know in a week or so if I have the option to buy. I'm willing to pay for the help, but finding someone who knows what to look for can be a challenge. Thanks!

Brad
