Hi Jolly the wheelbase is 120, I haven't seen the truck in person so not sure if the box is all steel or not. The GVW lists as 22,000 but I'm trying to find out the empty weight.

Model L-4000, GVWs range from 15000 to 23000. wheelbases listed are: 97', 109', 133', 145' & 175'. Weights with out box are listed as 6015 to 6450 lbs. What is the frist part vin number that will give us the model LV4003-LV4016. keep in mind Wheelbase for pickups is 115" & 127" this looks longer than a pickup.

I agree, it's longer than 120. Probably just bad info I was given... The VIN is LV4016G10887F. I did verify that the box is all steel.

Well then here what you got LV4016G10887F,

L = L-model, 72" steel tilt cab
V = Vacuum-Hydraulic Brakes
40 = series 4000
16 = wheelbase, 175"
G = series 1963
10887 = serial number
F = DOT GVW rating.

NO, your truck being a LV4016, it should be without the box, 6500 lbs.

My '62 GMC 4000 (Conventional Cab) with a 16 Ft Flatbed (did not Dump) weighed 8000 Lbs Empty. We can only really guess, but I would safely add another 500 to 1000 Lbs to that for the Box. Therefore my best guess would be about 8500 to 9000 Lbs. "BUT" the only true way is to have it weighed at a Certified Public Scale.
