Need Ideas for Slave to Master hook up
Is there a DIY way to plumb Clutch Slave to the Master Cylinder? Can I use rubber hose with tube ends clamped? Stock is swaged which indicates too much pressure for hose clamps. If making one is not possible, where can I get?

You need a length of brake line, with fittings at both ends, and one of the rubber brake flex lines (like the ones to the front wheels...). Custom bend the metal line yourself to match as closely as possible to the contours of the original. Connect one end to the clutch slave and connect the other end to the rubber line which is then connected to the master cylinder. This is what my parts guy came up with to try and replicate the original. The cheapest flex/rubber brake line works fine.

Re: Need Ideas for Slave to Master hook up
If you're not looking for a totally original item then maybe this will work for you, it works for me. I used a stainless steel flexible hose from Speedway and it looks good and works perfectly. It also allows you to route it wherever you need it to go, and is flexible to move with your truck as needed. You can also get the length you need with one hose. Just an idea and food for thought.

Re: Need Ideas for Slave to Master hook up
Can you be more specific? Part number? Did it have correct fittings on it or did you use clamps? AN? ???? what kind of fittings or adapters on the ends. Approx total price? thanks.

Re: Need Ideas for Slave to Master hook up
I used an AN4 line that was 36" long, can't remember the P/N but it was around $20. Then used two SAE to AN fittings, one 90 degree and one straight, one on each end, they were around $8 each. So overall i spent around $35 to $40. For P/N's you can look them up on sreedways site. Hope this helps. Also used a couple of rubber lined clamps to secure to body, I already had those so no cost for me on them.
Summit, Jegs and others also have these parts. |

Re: Need Ideas for Slave to Master hook up
When I did the brakes on my 1961 GMC 4WD Suburban, I could not readily find the rubber hose that went from the frame to the rear end housing, so I ordered my parts from Summit, a Russell brake line which used AN fittings, one bulkhead fitting and a couple of ends, worked out great. Not original but solved the problem.

Re: Need Ideas for Slave to Master hook up
I did see that. It is $60 shipped. That would be the one for complete stock. Good quality I'm sure. Thanks Funky61.
