Truck Vin ID when no ID tag visible

Is there any location on a early to mid 60's GMC V4005 series truck other than the drivers door post sticker ? The sticker on the one I'm inquiring about is missing. the cab has been repainted and the sticker is missing, not just painted over.

It ID plate riveted to yhe inside of the glove box door INdicates: "GMC Truck Service Parts Ident. I845 CAB; Model V4005; Serial F1326E; engine 305C; plusaxle, trans.,spring, brakes & wheel info. The License Registration info is missing (so far).

Any leads would be appreciated.

This may not help, but the VIN plate on my suburban in on the drivers side kick panel. Near your left leg when driving.

Okay, so you have the VIN... what more do you need?
According to the manuals I have, on trucks 3500 series and up, the data plate on the glovebox door is the VIN & Data plate.
Your VIN, V4005 F1326E is reasonably accurate for what I have seen in the larger truck VINs. They correspond loosely with the pickup VINs. At least this is an early (60-66) rather than later since the data for 68 up to the early 70s isn't even correct in the books (I have personal experience with that).

For instance the VIN on the 4000 I have is VH4016G1750F, which indicates the format of your VIN is correct.

*If* I get a chance I'll look up what the VIN breaks down to. *IF* I recall correctly, the "V" indicates hydraulic brakes (standard brakes). 40 of course means it is a 4000 series, 05 is the wheelbase, The "F" should indicate the series (years) which would be the 1964-1966 era, serial number is 1326, and the weight classification is "E", which I would have to also look up.

What more do you need?
