It claims to be a '58 on the site, so it makes me wonder if whom every built it had a working truck with a rotten or wrecked cab, and this is what they built to get it back on the road.

one has to give it (credit) to the farmers in Saskatchewan for ingenuity for uses of haywire; before duct tape came along.

I agree with Ron here! If my truck got so bad and I couldn't drive it anymore or afford parts I think I'd be lucky to have the skills to build one of my own. I say good job even though it looks like a constipated pig - hey it works!

I think we should start a collection to buy it and bring it to Honeyville.

Jolly, are you familiar with the "GMC Trucks" page on Facebook? They have been kicking that first orange pic around for quite a long time with no information ever returned. I don't want to steal your info and pics of the truck red and thought maybe you would like to add a little info for the curious minds on there.

Thanks for your research!---DAC

There looks to be a few, which one? are we friends on facebook?

the group he was talking about above is called; GENERAL MOTORS TRUCK GROUP

I sent the owner an e-amil last night and got a phone call from him today.

The truck got rented out to a resruant for use as a sign for a while and it got painted soild red, even the windows got painted. I'll be getting more info on it soon I hope. he said it has a V8, the rocker covers have humps or waves in them, sounds like a GMC V6, but could be a few outher engines too. Didn't GMC use Pontiac engine inthe lats 50s? its a '58 chassis he told me, with a chevy pickup cab cab custom mounted. he said the chassis could be a dodge or IH, but he is not sure. I asked him from more info and photos so he is going to see what he can find. hopefully he can send good photos of the vin tags if he can find any.

I told him depending on what he can find out I mite want to just get the cab off it, would be a cool little one ton rat rod eh.

Hi Jolly, thanks again for that friend request. I had liked both of your truck pages previously.
The site I'm on over there is simply called "GMC Trucks" and I will try to post a link. It is one that requires joining to see the full content. It is predominantly about the big GMC's but it still has lots of great pics. I shared your rescue squad over there once.
