Default Leaf spring ?

I have a 64 C1000 long wideside, was wondering how many leaves should be in the spring pack> There are 7, but I'm inclined to think the second from the bottom is gone meaning there were probably 8 to begin with. Anyone?

Thanks,
Steve

The original spring asm. was a 7-leaf assembly that was rated at 1250# per spring asm. I up-rated mine a number of years ago by buying a pair of new spring asm. for a 1T. G-series van, but had to have main leaves made for the springs due to the different bushing diameters between the G-series and the 1000 series truck.

Lewis, I take it you felt it was a little soft sprung too. Did you set yours up to haul a camper or pull a trailer??
