Re: After 5 years sitting running again! NEED MUFFLER
Hi guys! Well it's Oct 23 and she is just purring now!
I think the carb rebuild did a lot but when I turned the distributor it started to run sweetly and has stayed that way for a month on the road. I do need to replace the wiper motor and wanted some advice. I replaced it once and it got wet and shorted out. Is there a wiper motor that is less likely to short out OR do I have to creatively use some silicone to stop water or??? Any way to keep the motor safer? Thanks Roger

Re: After 5 years sitting running again! NEED MUFFLER
Your wiper motor shouldn't care if it gets wet. Are there any exposed wires or anything?

Is the seal between the wiper motor and the firewall still intact?

Re: After 5 years sitting running again! NEED MUFFLER
Here's what your motor should look like.
It seals around the motor shaft and the back of the motor, then the wires have little protectors on them too. Let us know what you find!

Re: After 5 years sitting running again! NEED MUFFLER
Well guys this wiper motor does not fit. I will return it. Here is a picture of the firewall wiper motor receptacle.
Do you know what the correct motor is that fits this? It's sort of a well the motor fits into, like a cup shape. My truck is a 1965 GMC 1000 with the 305 V6. Thanks Roger Okay I can't get the image up. Please look at it in my gallery, the pic is named: firewall wiper motor recepticle

Hi NewYorkSong,
I have fixed your picture link. You were only missing the domain portion at the front. With regard to your motor, do you think this model would be more likely to fit? https://www.ebay.com/itm/175946369561 -Jeannie 60-66 GMC Club |
