Default Voltage Regulator Replacement

Can someone verify if the link below is the right regulator for the 1965 GMC 2500 305E V6 Panel truck? Thanks in advance.

For the record, this was a perfect fit, even the screw holes lined up.

Dukes, I realize you did not ask for advise or opinions. You just want a regulator. So this is for anyone who may be interested, including you.

1. I do not know what your charging symptoms are. Don't know if you have determined the problem is the regulator for sure.

2. There are several reasons for charging issues.

3. I never bother with playing with an alternator. They are relatively cheap and you get additional warranty with a rebuilt. After I check all other possibles.

4. I use a AC Delco 10si. Cheap. Parts plentiful.

5. I will continue to try and find the regulator you need. The one you mentioned is a dead ringer for a 10si and says "Delco Remy" on it. I would bet that the regulator is the same as a 10si. Possible https://www.amazon.com/Alternator-Re.../dp/B07LB74JCW Probably depends on amps as to what regulator is best. As you know yours is 42A.

If that alternator part number is what you have then it is not a stock unit for a 1964 year model. With the alternator part number you provided it has an internal regulator it can be bench check at an auto part store. If it works there then it the wiring in your truck. To use that alternator there is no external regulator and the wiring will need to be modify to work with the alternator. You will need to buy a small harness kit. Here is some instruction for the mod: https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/gm-cars-alternators/

Here is a conversion kit for installation of the SI alternator:https://www.ebay.com/itm/202275380018

I would not recommend using a one wire alternator, it can cause more electrical problems if your harness is original.

On my truck (64 1500) I had a wire broke off of the ignition switch that prevented the alternator from turning on.

Good luck.

Dukes, it's probably better to start your own posts. Rather than onto a very old post.

Actually I believe your right - no more posting in old posts.
I checked (to be sure) and yes the alternator listed was wrong ( in my question) sorry - 213-4003 is the correct alternator on my truck - and an externally regulated replacement for the OEM unit - producing the same output.
So all I needed wanted was the regulator OEM model number.
A smart fella would go with an Si unit but I have to do things the hard way.
Thanks guys let me know if y’all know - I couldn’t find it anywhere .

Understood, but you can see that not going internal regulator 10si, you are creating an unnecessary problem that keeps your truck idle.
That's my mild response.
