Default 1960 1001

Check out my new album- "1960 1001 Custom Cab"
I found it on CL and had my brother take these pics. The current owner says it belonged to an irrigation company foreman, the 305A being removed for a pump! Ad says a balanced and blueprinted 350 V8 resides in her now, but she hasn't run and has been sitting here for 14 years. It appears nearly original except for the motor, tranny possibly, reverse lights, a couple of knobs and the rear wheels. He has the original wheels alas, missing two hubcaps. I placed it in the albums strictly as a reference for it's original appearance.

Thanks for those great pictures Brian. Good original stuff. Do you know if that truck still resides in the Porterville California area? I'm not interested in buying, just curious if it is a local CA truck? tks.

Foley,
It's still on CL in Placentia, CA. The guy wants $13,000. Yes, no typo. It's been sitting in his yard for 14 years. I told him I'd give him $3,000 but he insisted that that is what he could sell the bumper for! I'm afraid this will just end up rotting away. Too **** bad.

He doesn't really want to sell it then. And after awhile he'll probably figure out that nobody is going to pay that kind of money, and perhpas lower his price considerably. I bought a bumper for my 64 a few months back. Sure didn't pay $3,000 for it. If you really like what he has there, I'd recommend staying in touch with him. Ya never know. I've made offers like you did on high priced stuff, and low and behold a couple months later (one time it was 7 months) the phone rings and the seller was ready for my offer.

Foley,
At one point he said he was flexible on price...I told him he needs to be VERY flexible. He finally said he'd let it go for $6,000 if he knew it wouldn't get chopped and dropped and I was out front with a flatbed and cash. That's where I left it. He no longer has the 305 and it hasn't run in over a decade....I see a $2-3k truck. We'll see.

LOL. Pretty good. He dropped the price seven thousand dollars in one breath then thought better of that, so he needed to put some conditions in there. There is still hope. I'll put my money on the fact that if he knows you're serious and nobody else is beating his door down with a big wad of cash he'll come around and both of you will be happy. Shucks Brian, I wouldn't even be upset about having that ol' truck poached right out of California...as long as it found a happy home there in Iowa
