Default V6 Distributor Mod

Hello all. I need the mod drawings for a Buick even-fire V6 distributor to fit on the GMC V6. I recently installed an MSD Atomic fuel injection system on my 1962 C1000 LWB w/305 (309 now after rebuild), so I have an awesome self learning fuel injection system, and I was lucky enough to find an MSD8551 Buick V6 distributor which is compatible with the Atomic system to give complete timing control to the computer, which has a plethora of benefits. I just need the mod drawings so I can get going on the ignition upgrade. How do I get my hands on them?
Thanks

Smile Re: V6 Distributor Mod

Referring to the BUICK HEI distributor:
I believe the drawings are still on the web site under the section on Ignition or Modifications, but there is nothing much to modify unless you plan to make your own spacer.
If you have the bushing kit, then as far as machine work is concerned, just drilling a couple of holes in the right place to fit the GMC drive gear on the Buick distributor is all that needs to be done.
I still have a few of the custom spacer/bushings available.
I am not sure what may be needed for your different distributor.

Default Re: V6 Distributor Mod

The mod to the MSD distributor will be exactly the same as the HEI, I will need the spacer/sleeve and I need to know how to modify the distributor for the gear swap. I saw some images on the website, it looked like 4 drawing sheets total to get the job done, but they are tiny images so I can't read the dimensions. I'm looking for the Edwin Erlbacher mod. If you have a spacer/sleeve you are willing to part with I will be happy to take it off your hands. Do you know if the GMC distributor gear can be purchased new? I would like to have this distributor modded and ready to drop in instead of having to rob parts off my existing distributor.
Thanks
