Cool 1966 GMC 1 ton Dully rear drum

I need, and can not find a rear drum for my 66 GMC 1 ton. 8 bolt. Can anyone help me out in locating a new or good used drum?

Does your drum look like this? Check your dimensions carefully before ordering unless you can do a physical match-up.

Thank you for the feedback. Please post again when the drum gets to you and you actually try it on the truck. I think this board has an interchange list somewhere for parts that are hard to find and we might want to put it on there. Maybe one of the moderators can tell us where it is.

Thats a good idea. I will let you know when I get the drum and if it fits. There is no listing for the rear drums here at any of the parts stores. Thanx.

Thers a thread here that talks about interchanging parts but it might be good to have one in every section like interiors, engine, etc that is at the top of every forum. http://6066gmcclub.com/forum/showthr...highlight=jeep

whatcha think Jeannie?

That's great news! Thank you for your very helpful feedback.

Now I have a confession to make. That drum is shown as fitting a Chev C-30. I did not find a listing for GMC. I suspected it might work because both trucks use the same H072 rear axle, but that was no guarantee that the brakes would be the same.

So once again I have to ask, is there someplace on this forum where parts interchange info can be saved?

Ray

Not sure if there is a forume where parts interchange info can be saved. I am having difficulty starting a new post. Can't seem to find where to start one. I am trying to remove the heater core and am having problems. I have removed the screws under the cover as well as the outside screws and am unable to remove the heater core. I am new here and am having problems remembering how to start a new post. Thanx for the help. Craig.

*Assuming* you have the deluxe heater where the core/fan assembly is under the hood, there is at least one nut (its been a while since I took mine out) behind the glove box.
