64 gmc 4000
Good Morning! I have a conundrum with my 64 GMC 4000 cab mounted on a 65 Chevy frame. Alignment shop says I need new upper control arms and driver's side lower control arm bearing to get a good alignment. How do I figure out if existing control arms are 64 GMC 4000 or 65 Chevy arms? Will they interchange? Thinking aftermarket, but don't want to order and then return. Anybody? Thank You

Since you have mounted a GMC 4000 cab on a 1965 Chevy frame, I would go with the parts for the Chevy frame. I'm not sure when GMC changed their (front) suspension from torsion bars to coil springs, so to be on the safe side, go with the Chevy frame parts. |

Re: 64 gmc 4000
parts are readily available, you can buy the control arm shaft with the bushings from orielys. as well as ball joints. cheaper than buying whole control arm.

Re: 64 gmc 4000
A 1964 GMC 4000 series is a 1.5 ton truck, they had leaf springs and an I-bean front axle. No control arms. You need parts for a 1965 Chevy. Good news is everything for those Chevy trucks is readily available and not expensive.
