Default Heater controller

I have 1966 GMC 1000 that I'm replacing the heat control levers. My question is there is a bracket that holds the bottom half of the control tight to the dash and I cannot figure out how it attaches to the dash. It's kindof a Z shaped bracket.

It rests/sits on the lower flange edge and 2 screws are use to pin the top in, it can't come out.

JeffO:
Is this the bracket you are looking for? It bolts to the bottom of the heater control and to the bottom of the dash using one of the bolts in the glove box hinge.

Hope this helps.
