Hello all. I inherited a 1966 GMC C20 a couple years ago from my uncle. He had purchased it back in the early 70s and used it as a welding truck for about 20 years. I am starting the restoration process. Actually pretty stoked as I got it running today.

I already have a spare cab, doors, and fenders. I'd like to put a bed on it, but it was originally a chassis cab truck. I am guessing a long bed would fit, but I need to get measurements of a short bed and long bed to verify what I need to be looking for.

Being that this truck is a 1 ton GMC would make it a C-2500 series not a C-20 which would be a Chevrolet 3/4 ton truck.

being a 1ton it will have a 133" wheel base. 3/4t has a 127" w/b while the 1/2 ton will have either a 115" or a 127" w/b. the 133" w/b will take a 9' box which you will have to search for and the dual wheels will not fit under it
it does look like a 133" w/b. 1 tons also have a 157" w/b , but it doesn't look like it

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize these trucks had three different bed lengths. I had fully expected to have to stretch the fenders to fit the duallies. Looks like I may be stretching the bed as well.

I'd find a long bed fleetside....extend it to a 9 foot bed and then adapt step side fenders to the side. That would be cool! IMOP.

I was actually planning to do a step side and just extend the fenders out.
