Is installing a new fuel pump for a 1963 gmc 1500 305e engine pretty straight foward or are there some problems I might encounter?

The GMC V6 is the easiest engine to install a fuel pump on IMO.
2 bolts, everything is easy to access. |

Just remember to have some fuel handy to prime the carb afterward. It helps if you have a clear fuel filter installed too so you can see if it's pumping.
