Default Easiest way to install gas grommet

Does anyone know the easiest way to install a gas grommet on the filler neck of a 1961 GMC pickup? Please help I already wrecked one.

Dielectric grease works great on this project. Remove gas cap and filler tube after loosening only the upper clamp on the rubber hose that connects the filler tube to the fuel tank. Be careful not to damage the filler tube as you try to break the seal between it and the hose and allow the loosened clamp to slip down the hose so it will be right there later when you need it. Clean exterior of filler tube. Install grommet and lube inside of grommet. Lube up the lower portion of filler tube and slide it in place while directing the lower portion into the hose that connects the filler tube to the fuel tank. Slide the loosened clamp in place and tighten. Reintall gas cap.
