Default Do we need to add Lead

I have a station that sells ethanol free gas. But after we replaced the springs my mechanic friend strongly suggested adding a lead substitute. I can find and add Lead Substitute - $3.50-4.99 per bottle which treats up to 20 gallons. The problem is I need to carry a few bottles with me at all times.

I tried to find CD 2 Lead Substitute (1oz. to 15 gallons - better bargain) but I don't believe its produced any longer.

What is the consensus on the members on adding lead and is the current lead substitutes worth it?

Thanks

Without hardened valve seats you need lead in the fuel. I've been using a lead additive for awhile now and motor is happy. Some members don't use lead and are fine to....but how much do they drive their trucks? How far? How long? How many miles on the rebuild? I drive mine everyday so I use the lead for cheap insurance. It was used back in the day....so no real good reason not to anymore. My two cents.

If the valves and seats haven't been cut, spring pressures and revs are moderate, there shouldn't be any problem with seat recession.
