If it a Dana 60 it would have a 60 cast into the housing web like mine.

the easiest way to determine your axle is #1) is there a filler plug in the inspection plate or the side of the carrier? Dana/Spicer 44 has a filler plug in the inspection plate while the GM/Eaton axles don't.

I measure and its a 44. I do have some rust on the gears not to bad though. I am pretty sure its not the axle that came stock. The shock mounts are at different measurements from the diff. Also how the heck do you get the drums off. It feels like they are stuck on the shoes. Sorry for so many questions I am pretty new at fixing up old trucks and want to make sure I do it right. Where can I find the correct measurements for the shock mounts and where do you suggest I but new ones at. The welds are pretty bad. I can see daylight through the welds.

I did the measurements and it’s a 44. I finally got the drums off. I actually beat one side off then saw there was a adjuster. . I am going to pull the axles and rebuild them. My plan is to make it like new again. Is there a good place to order a rebuild kit or just piece it together from Orileys and autozone.
