Carb replacement 1965 GMC 305
This will be my first post. carb had been rebuilt when I got the truck, it’s leaking, went to remove the oil pan - seems like someone did some welding by connecting the oil pan to the mouth of the carb. Looking for advice on how to handle.

Re: Carb replacement 1965 GMC 305
That may be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. I'd probably get a sanding wheel for my drill or my grinder and just sand that weld aloose a little at a time then try to smooth everything out.
Regardless, it's going to have to get off there.

Don't forget to close the choke so dust can't enter the intake.

I didn't even think of that. Good point!

Yep, cosmically dumb!
It would be nice if the pan doesn't make it impossible to remove the carb. |

Oooo, dats purty!
You should start a build thread in the build topic. Good pics!
