I just want to verify on drum brakes does the short shoe go toward the front or the rear

Default Re: Short brake shoe

Short shoes is always on the front. The reason for this, the front shoes is the last shoes to wedge against the drum while stopping while the truck while moving in the forward direction. The rear shoes is like the tip of the wedge and it has a better grip on the drum. The rear shoes will also be the first shoes to wear out.
