His information was not all that accurate, the 637 never used the ww carb as it would have been completely starved of fuel. The turbo version was actually the DT478 V6 and 366 & 427 engines never replaced the 637 as it was in the 9500 series, the largest application for the 427 was in 1975 when it replaced the 432 and 478 V6 gas engines

That was me that corrected him on the carb info He replied back that he was satisfied with his info The guy couldn't live down to the fact his info was not accurate

Interesting article and replies.
I drove one in a '71 JE 9500 for about 2 1/2 years as mentioned in some other threads. It's good just to hear some more conversations about them, lol.

Would anyone know were I can find one of these 637 GMC V8's here on the east cost do they??? Maybe close to .NC.??? Ross. Hodges Durham, NC '66 GMC with '12 foot bed.

hi guys. The correct designation for the carb on the 637 is a "WWC", not a "WW". This same carb design was on all 401 & 478 engines. It also came on the 351E and M engines (M engine is oil pr. governed). The "WW" was a small cfm carb used by various GM divisions and Mopar divisions. I hope this is of some assistance in this discussion.
