Now that I have an intake set (thanks again bob), I'm looking into what it would take to get a cricut type cutter to make a few sets of the intake gaskets or at least provide a pattern for members. I have a sheet of fel-pro exhaust gasket material and need to create a template for those gaskets.
I also have been emailing a place in Canada that claims they can get them but I asked that they verify availability before I place the order. Much like the 3 other places I found that that listed them on their websites. if they can get them I'll post it. |

Paper gaskets are simple to make with a small ball peen hammer. Copper head gaskets. I drill all the holes on a small drill press. The cylinders. I get to a 1/8 inch using a cutter in a mill. Backing the copper with plywood. Then I glue the copper to the block with hi-tack. Plus a couple of bolts. Then I put the boring bar on the block. And set the cutter to the bore and back it up through the copper. Perfect fit. Then aneall the copper and spray a little copper cost spray. Takes about an hour to make a set.

The Canadians fell through so I went ahead and bought a used digital scrapbooking cutter in order to replicate Magnum intake gaskets. I'm still hunting for a good gasket material the FelPro Karropak looks a little too thin @1/16"

I have ordered from are friends to the North before, with same results, even called them and they said they could get them, but after a week to 10 days I would get a refund, but never hurts to try.

Here is a template of the Magnum exhaust gasket that I made. Still might need some final tweaking. Im going to try dry run with the cutter on thin cardboard tomorrow. It can do multiple cuts so hopefully it can do the gasket material.

I could also use a set of the Magnum exhaust gaskets if you make some.

I thought the intake Gaskets on a magnum motor were the same as a 305,only the exhaust has larger ports. Dave
