Hello all,
I'm finding it impossible to source control arms (or bushings) for my 1961 1500.

I've tried the following places:
lmctruck.com
classicindustries.com
brothertrucks.com
ecklerstrucks.com
thefillingstation.com
oldchevytrucks.com
rockauto.com
chevparts.com.au (I'm in Australia)
autosurplus.com.au
americanautoparts.net
eagleautoparts.com.au

and a whole heap more..... But, I'm coming up empty handed.

If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. The only place I've actually found any wanted about $300 each, which seemed pretty extreme.

https://www.jegs.com/i/Rare-Parts/202/RP17210/10002/-1 RP17210 and RP17211 are for Chevy.

IF they are the same as Chevy.

If that's NOT what you are talking about, let me know.

That's exactly what I'm after. I've reached out to see if they can tell me whether or not they'll fit..... fingers crossed. The online fitment chart says they'll fit a 61 GMC, but not the 5.0 for some reason?

I'm trying to figure out what the differences are and what happened in 63, as that seems to be the cutoff for most of what I'm finding.

On the Classic Part link, scroll down to "Detailed Description". You will see that their parts fits 1961 Chevy 3/4. All you need to know from the gurus here is if Chevy suspension/chassis/A arms are the same for GMC in 1961. If so, that is your part from Classic.
In 1963, Chevy went to coil front suspension instead of torsion bars. The differences in Chevy and GMC is basically in the rear regarding coil vs leaf. In the years 60-62 the Chevy and GMC frames are basically the same according to Jolly. So that part should work. I really doubt if vendors can be trusted to know about GMC trucks, If they knew, they would include GMC in that Part's description and get more sales.

I find it interesting that the classic parts link says it'll fit the 60-62 as well as the 63-66 for a 3/4 ton..... nowhere else I've looked has sold something that claims to have that level of compatibility across so many years (for lack of a better way of putting it).

Although, the Jegs site doesn't mention a 5.0 in the V6 at all.....

The internet is an amazing place LOL

For Chevy, the front end was redesigned to coil springs. The 3/4T and 1T had stronger A arm shafts. Possible something to do with that.

When I was learning paint and body work at a local community college in Jacksonville Florida, we used a nationwide junkyard search website. www.car-part.com . This will help you find any hard parts on the used market. It might not have any of the consumable parts you need such as ball joints, etc. the part numbers listed are for specific parts. I hope this helps. Randy Kaneer

I'm not sure how much I'd go trusting consumables from a wrecker..... but, the site looks excellent for other bits and pieces. Thanks!

AZKen:
I've reached out to the folks you sent to see what they have to say about fitment. Hopefully some more folks in the club/forum will have some thoughts to add.

Jegs got back to me. The other folks didn't respond at all.
They (Jegs) reckon it'll fit. So, I'm going to give it a go and see what happens.
Just waiting on a shipping quote. Unless one of y'all happens to be flying to Brisbane and fancies saving me a couple hundred bucks in the process lol.

Bit the bullet and placed my order with Jegs. Shipping ended up only being about $70 for international express, which isn't too bad...... Fingers crossed.

Thanks AZKen!
