The lifting brackets were equipped from the factory on later model V6 engines right around the model year 1972.

There is no aftermarket spin on adapter for the GMC V6 but in 1966 GMC started using a spin on filter assembly on 305 to 351 engine in light and medium duty trucks up to the last V6's built in 1974 which also included the 73-74 379 V6. So what you need is a spin on oil filter housing.
