Did you mean clutch plate in backwards not pressure plate and backwards ? I'm thinking there's only one way to attach the pressure plate

Make sure that they sold you the correct clutch plate, the 305 has a shorter depth from the flywheel face to the end of the crankshaft, if they sell you one that has a protruding spline on the flywheel side it may hit the end of the crank, I caught this on mine before I put it together
