Anybody have an idea of how many quarts of oil should be in the pan minus the filter and cooling lines? My engine is a 432. I have a couple of dipsticks and tubes for the motor, but I do not know which one is correct.
All help appreciated. |

Book says 8 quarts for '74 432 in a 6500 series conventional cab truck.

Thanks for such a quick response!
That's good to hear. Do you know if that is 8 quarts with or w/o the oil filter? |

My 1965 book lists the 478 as having 8 quarts in the pan without the filter; 10 1/2 quarts with the filter.
So I'm thinking the same applies to you. |

Thank you. I am getting the same answer from one than one person, so it is likely a safe bet. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it a bunch.

Yes, 8 quarts without the filter. The '74 432 6500 used a 2 quart filter, so 10 total.
